Spanish superstar golfer Sergio Garcia wins US Masters after a thrilling final day on Sunday at Augusta. Garcia’s first Major title took an astonishing 74 tournaments to achieve, but what a breathtaking climax it was!
The hard fought title came only after replay-holes with Justin Rose, who tied with Garcia at -9 after 72 holes. Garcia already had his hands on the green jacket on the 18th hole on the final day, but he missed the crucial birdie putt, taking the duel to play-off holes. The decider didn’t take long though.
Rose misfired his opening drive on the first playoff-hole and gave the keys to victory to Garcia. The Spaniard – infamous for his collapses in the late rounds – seized the opportunity and took his first major-title at the age of 36. No one deserves it more!
Bitter defeat took Justin Rose to second place, while Charl Schwartzel took the third place.
