The NFL season is about to kick off and every year there are teams that come out of nowhere to either make the playoffs or even a deep run like the Bengals did last year. Let’s look at three teams that could breakout in 2022:
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts were one of the better teams in the NFL for the majority of the year. Unfortunately, it all went bad for them at the end of the year when they lost to the Raiders in week 17 when they were favored and then lost to the Jaguars in week 18 as heavy favorites. If they won those games they would have made the playoffs.
This year they got potentially a hall of fame quarterback in Matt Ryan to add to this already dynamic offense with Jonathan Taylor. That, combined with a top defense, could put them in a position to compete for a Super Bowl this year.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings core of Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen have been together for a while now and now they added Justin Jefferson a couple years ago. This team can be dangerous and the Green Bay Packers might regress this year leaving the division wide open.
Look for the Vikings to possibly win the division and make some noise in the playoffs.
Pittsburgh Steelers
People seem to be counting out the Steelers this year after losing Big Ben. To be honest, Big Ben was not great last year and Mitchell Trubisky or Kenny Pickett could be an upgrade for them.
The Steelers made the playoffs last year and their team should be even better this upcoming season. They are being counted out but should be a good darkhorse to make the playoffs.
