Weirdest NFL Offseason Moves

The NFL free agency period has been a crazy one so far. We have seen multiple players switch up teams and go to unexpected places. Let’s look at 3 of the moves that have been the weirdest so far.

Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers desperately needed better wide receivers for Bryce Young to throw to but not many people expected that they would actually get one. Johnson was not really known to be available but he has been infamous for complaining about his role with the team and how things were going in Pittsburgh. This move was just one that not many people could have called.

Calvin Ridley to the Tennessee Titans

One of the biggest free agents available was Calvin Ridley. He was rumored to go to a ton of teams but Tennessee was not one of them. He ended up there in a weird move as the Titans are uncertain at quarterback with last year’s rookie Will Levis looking uncapeable of being a starter at times. They also have DeAndre Hopkins on the team still and have been a heavy run team the past handful of years.

Desmond Ridder to the Arizona Cardinals

Kirk Cousins signed with the Atlanta Falcons but even before that it was pretty clear that the Falcons wanted to move on from Desmond Ridder. The surprise here is that there was a market for him. The Arizona Cardinals gave up a promising young wide receiver in Rondale Moore to get him as their backup and likely long-term project.
