What the Offseason Looks Like for the Knicks and Nuggets

The New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets were just both eliminated in seven games in the NBA playoffs. Both of these teams were favorites to win their respectable series but came up short. Let’s look at what these teams can do this offseason to make another run at the title next year.

New York Knicks

The Knicks basically have all of their guys coming back next season. The real question is how they will set themselves up beyond next year as Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and OG Anunoby all can become free agents after next year. This upcoming season the Knicks should be one of the favorites in the East. All of their guys should come back fully healthy for next season. If they were healthy for the series against Indiana it seems likely they could have won it and be playing in the Eastern Conference Finals right now. This offseason they may make a major trade but could be satisfied standing pat as well.

Denver has most of their players on contract to come back next year and they should again be one of the favorites in the West. Their big question is with Kentaviuos Caldwell-Pope who has a player option he is likely to decline. The problem with Denver was their bench. If they slide Christian Braun into the starting lineup their bench gets even worse. They’ll need to add depth this offseason.
