What to Watch for in the NBA All star Game

Fans are excited for the 2024 NBA All Star game to go back to their old format of the Eastern Conference vs the Western Conference. Let’s look at some other things to look for in this game as well.

First-Time All Stars

Jalen Brunson may have been snubbed last year and as a starter this season, but he made it as a reserve and it is beyond-well deserved. Tyrese Maxey made the All Star team as well as he has been crucial for the Philadelphia 76ers this year and is putting up the best numbers of his career by far. Paolo Banchero just won Rookie of the Year eight months ago but is now an All Star as he has the Orlando Magic in their best position in years and is putting up huge numbers, especially lately.

It’s hard to believe but Kevin Durant hasn’t played in an All Star game since 2019. It’s not because he hasn’t been honored as an All Star but he has been injured during this time for years. He could make a big impact in the game due to his five-year absence.

$100,000 prize money

To incentivize players to try harder in the game and win, the NBA will award players of the winning team $100,000. The game has been uncompetitive in recent years but the prize money definitely helps.
