What Will the Chicago Bears Do?

The Chicago Bears will have the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Some experts have said that quarterback Caleb Williams is the best prospect ever and will be the No. 1 pick. A problem is that the Chicago Bears already have a quarterback with high upside and potential in Justin Fields.

This gives the Bears a few options. The first option is to draft Caleb Williams and trade Justin Fields. It’s not a guarantee that Williams will be better than Fields in his first year, or ever though. Secondly, the Bears could draft Williams and keep Fields and figure out who will start. Lastly, the Bears could trade the pick or even pick someone else with the first pick.

So, what will the Bears actually do? Most leaks of what the Bears will do say that they will pick Caleb Williams and not trade the pick. From there if a deal that they can’t refuse for Fields comes up then they will likely trade him. If there is not an obvious trade that gets good value in return for Fields, then they should keep him. Fields likely will start if healthy as the Bears ease Williams in.

It’s a tough situation for the Bears. Overall, they don’t want to pass on possibly one of the best quarterbacks of all time but they also don’t want to give Fields away for nothing as they know he has shown some massive upside.
