What’s Next for the Denver Broncos?

The Denver Broncos lost last night on Thursday Night Football and now they are just 1-5 on the season. At this point they would have to be nearly perfect the rest of the season just to make the playoffs. Denver still has to play Kansas City again as well as Buffalo and the Chargers, amongst other top teams.

So, now that the Broncos season is all but over, where do they go from here? Almost across the board this team is terrible. Russell Wilson has shown at times he is a capable starter in the NFL still but not nearly enough. His receivers also can’t get open and the offensive line doesn’t block much either. That is a big part of the problem. It seems the Broncos’ wide receivers aren’t giving full effort on every route and can’t get open even against man coverage like they were seeing nearly all game against the Chiefs.

The strong point of the team last year was the defense. They have looked terrible all season but showed some signs of life last night. All in all the defense needs to be rebuilt as well. It is going to start with the draft and they should look to bolster up other areas of the team like the offensive line and defense before drafting a quarterback.

They are going to be locked into Russell Wilson for a long time and he doesn’t seem to be the main problem. Addressing his surrounding cast should be the move and even trading some players now to get more draft picks may be the move the rest of the season.
