Multiple NBA stars have been in trade rumors recently. We rank the most likely to be traded first and where they could be ending up.
1. Donovan Mitchell
The Jazz have all but said they are going to trade Mitchell after they traded Rudy Gobert. The asking price has just been ridiculous so far as they reportedly want seven first-round picks for him. A team will likely offer four or five first-round picks and some players to get Mitchell, and the Knicks look like they will be the team to do it soon.
2. Russell Westbrook
There are various reports that say Westbrook has asked for a trade. There have also been reports that the Lakers have offered teams Westbrook and multiple first-round picks to take him in exchange for some pieces that could help them. Additionally, more reports say that the Lakers want to keep him. It seems with all these trade rumors going around that the Lakers will find a deal they can’t pass up on soon and Charlotte, Brooklyn, Utah, and Houston have all shown at least some interest.
3. Kevin Durant
Durant formally requested a trade through his manager. It is Brooklyn’s goal to trade him before the season but after Utah got five first round picks for Gobert, it seems that the Nets have been underwhelmed by teams’ trade offers. It could be a while until they find a team willing to give up what they find fair for possibly the best player in the league. Washington is the latest team to show interest but any team in the league would like to get Durant as he is still on a four-year deal.
