Which Surprise NBA Teams are For Real?

For Real

Sacramento Kings

The Kings are now 13-9 on the season. They have played over a quarter of their games and are four games over .500. To start the year this team lost four games in a row. They also got infamously wronged by the referees in two losses early in the year. Since then they have won seven games in a row and now are on a three game streak. The Kings are second in the NBA in scoring per game.

New Orleans Pelicans

This team is second in the Western Conference now. Even with injuries they still have climbed up the standings. Zion Williamson has been great recently and the Pelicans are better than anyone thought. Some people projected them as a fourth, fifth, or sixth seed in the West but they are comfortably in second with their sights on the No. 1 seed.

Not For Real

Indiana Pacers

With Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and the rookie Benedict Mathurin, this team got off to a hot start. The Pacers can score the ball but cannot defend, especially when Turner is not on the floor. While they are currently still above .500, they have now lost three games in a row. They also are now starting to deal with some injuries. This team seems like they can’t keep this up for the rest of the year.

Utah Jazz

The Jazz began the season 10-3. Since then it has been a struggle. This team plays well together but don’t have too many players who can take over a game which is needed in the NBA. They may have gotten lucky in the first few weeks of the season. They are now 14-12 and now are just 4-9 in their last 13 games.
