It seems that right now more so than in the past there are a bunch of players who could make the case that they are the best player in the NBA. For this article we will list these players and give our opinion on them as to why they could be considered the best right now.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is 4th in the league in scoring and was second last year. He won the Bucks a championship in 2021.
Kevin Durant is still seen as the best scorer on all levels right now by a ton of people.
Luka Doncic has led the Mavericks on deep playoff runs almost by himself and is leading the league in scoring right now.
Steph Curry led the Warriors to another championship win in 2022 and can take over and win any game at any point.
Jayson Tatum took the Celtics to the championship in 2022 and has them as the favorite to win in 2023 by many.
Nikola Jokic has won back to back MVPs and took this Nuggets team farther than a lot of people thought.
Joel Embiid when healthy is unguardable at his size and can dominate any game and any opponent.
Lebron James still looks as athletic and good as ever when he was widely considered the best player in the league but can’t get his team to win right now.
