Who We Want to See in the Dunk Contest

The NBA Slam Dunk contest contestants have been announced and the field is a bit underwhelming. Two players have barely played in the league in Mac McClung and Jacob Toppin (not Obi Toppin but his brother) plus rookie Jaimie Jaquez and then Jaylen Brown. It will be cool to see a proven star in the contest this year in Brown but he is more known for his power dunks than flash.

Who do we actually want to see in the dunk contest?

The obvious answer is and has been for over two decades now, LeBron James. James not only has power but he has extreme bounce even in his older age. With his size he could also pull off some wild dunks from the free throw line and could easily get his head way above the rim.

Also, we want to see some of these young players who could be stars go after it. Shaedon Sharpe may have the best bounce in the league right now and could likely throw down some insane dunks. Another young player who is already a star we would like to see is Anthony Edwards. Edwards has thrown down some of the most impressive in-game dunks in the past 10 years. That would be a sight to see in the dunk contest.
