The Jazz are looking to rebuild. They have traded most of their core players but are still left with Donovan Mitchell, who they are trying to trade as well. They reportedly want young players and six first-rounds picks, which is a ton to give up in the NBA. These three teams are rumored to be the most aggressive in pursuing Mitchell right now:
Washington Wizards
The Wizards want to win after signing Beal to a long-term deal. Likely anyone on their roster besides Beal would be expendable in a trade to Utah for Mitchell. Mitchell and Beal could both handle the ball and Washington could probably still hold onto Porzingis as well to form a Big 3 in the nation’s capital.
Charlotte Hornets
Charlotte would have a lot to offer for Mitchell such as Terry Rozier, James Bouknight, and Mark Williams plus their draft picks. Mitchell and LaMelo Ball would be one of the best backcourts in the league to build around.
New York Knicks
Utah reportedly doesn’t want Julius Randle but they do want RJ Barrett plus Immanuel Quickley and/or Obi Toppin. A backcourt of newly signed Jalen Brunson and Mitchell would be nice to form a Big 3 with Randle in New York.
