Two of the biggest stars in the NBA have requested trades, but they didn’t give their team many options of where to trade them. Damian Lillard requested a trade after the Portland Trail Blazers have failed to build a competitive team around him and James Harden requested a trade because… it’s James Harden.
Damian Lillard
After spending his entire career in Portland and signing an extension just last summer, Lillard has requested a trade. He also could have just not signed the extension and signed with the Miami Heat, who only wants to be traded to. This puts the Blazers in a tough spot as they reportedly don’t like what Miami has to offer. Now Lillard says he will still give Portland his all, or any other team. It seems like he won’t actually be traded but I think Portland is ready now to move on and he actually will be dealt somewhere before the season.
James Harden
The Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the best teams in the East for years now and were still competitive in the playoffs just last year. Now Harden wants to be traded again as he has already requested a trade from three teams in about three years. The team he wants to go to is the LA Clippers but the Clippers said they don’t want to give up their stars or their only really solid young piece in Terance Mann. It may happen that Harden gets traded but not to the Clippers.
